- Let me start by saying that this first book in the Faithful Falls series is very well written. I love small town romances with their quirky, fun characters and witty interactions. This one certainly has all of that, including the town gossip, the bartender, and of course, the town slut. Luke and Julia don't exactly get off on the right foot, but their chemistry is undeniable, so with some good timing and the right words, the romance gets underway. As part of a blended family, I feel like the author did a solid job of showing some of the problems that go along with it, along with the doubts, insecurities, and stress. That said, I felt like the push and pull between this couple went a little over the top. It seemed like a lot of the book was spent with Julia pulling away and Luke chasing. Now, there's nothing wrong with that except Julia seemed a little childish at times. I get the insecurities, but more than once, she pulls away when Luke needs her support the most. Yet, he's the one apologizing and asking for another chance. For me, it just felt like Luke spent more time chasing and proving himself to Julia than they spent building a relationship. That brings me to my own personal pet peeve - the intimate scenes. Every single scene with the exception of one was absolutely wonderful, couldn't be better, best of their life sex. Life is messy, which is shown in every other part of the story except that one, and given their issues, I find it hard to believe that both of them would be completely invested and experiencing out of this world ecstasy every single time. I'll add here that the one exception was one of my favorite parts of the book, and if you have young children, you'll completely empathize with that situation. In the end, I think I would've liked a little less of the same angst over and over, but there are some wonderful characters in the world of Faithful Falls, and with that in mind, I'll certainly check out whatever comes next for this series.
- Buckle up strap in and get ready because you are in for one hell of a ride with Julia and Luke. Luke is a Marine with a heart of gold wrapped in platinum, but betrayals from his past have left him jaded. Julia is tough business woman who didn't know Luke was everything she didn't know she wanted or needed in a man. When they come together in this sweet, captivating, and endearing love they will make you root for them time and time again. I loved, loved, loved everything about this book and I can't wait for number 2 in the series. Well done Elle!
- I received an ARC from the publisher. This review contains my honest opinion. Stay With Me, Julia was a joy to read. It starts out introducing us to Julia, a hard-working young woman who is surprised to have any attraction at all to the groundskeeper, Luke. He’s not her usual type. He’s a rugged former Marine with a past that includes an ex and kids. Julia had always been on track for the perfect life with a simple suit and tie kind of man. Needless to say, that kind of man didn’t come close to good hearted Luke, her mountain man. It doesn’t take long and they find themselves head over heels crazy for each other.
I really like how the story unfolded showcasing typical problems that come along in divorced families. Every decision the characters made in the story made sense against what they were dealing with. Elle has a beautiful way of showing us the importance of family through her stories. I especially liked how Luke, at one point, was upset because he allowed the emotional thought cross his mind that his ex and kids were baggage that could hinder his relationship with the only woman he ever loved. Although, the author didn’t spell it out, the reader knew he was upset that he even thought like that about his kids. Hands down, they were his priority. But we all could feel his struggle and that is ‘real’ in every sense.

Elle knows how to describe scenery well. I want to visit this imaginary town in Idaho to taste some huckleberry syrup on a big stack of pancakes. She also knows love and the challenges that come with becoming a blended family (the steamy moments are a hot bonus). Luke is a dream boat and Julia is fierce. Even though they are from completely different backgrounds, they end up falling hard and fast for each other (as did I with their characters). I don't want to give too much away but I can't wait to read more from the Faithful Falls series!

The lodge is classy and upscale, beautifully decorated, beautifully situated. She gets off on the wrong foot with Luke the resident lumberjack and grounds manager. Luke is a handsome man who steers clear of the kind of high maintenance women he thinks Julia is. But he can’t help feeling a strong attraction to Julia. How will it work out with the mountain man and the city girl? This is a slow burn romance. Elle’s descriptions of the setting make you want to visit Idaho. The characters and the small mountain town setting are interesting and believable. I received an advance readers’ copy in exchange for an honest review.
