• It is so easy to think that my children are low risk to be the victims of a sex-trafficker. But my own daughter has been tested at least twice now by men who were clearly seeing if she could be tricked into compromising situations. If she hadn't attended a training class by TRAFFICK911, taken a college course in Safety, and earned a black belt, she might have not had her wits about her and realized she needed to get away quickly. So I have been searching for a good book to share with friends, so they can prepare their children. This is the best book I have found. It is current with the very latest techniques traffickers use - particularly online, it is not focused on just the highest risk kids, and it is not designed as a school curriculum, so it easy for a mom to just sit down and read. (It isn't a book to hand to your kids though, unless you want to introduce them to the names of many website you hope they don't discover!) It is chock full of great suggestions on how to talk to your kids on the subject. I also like that it ties in with the other risk our kids face -> it explains that the same techniques are used by organizations like ISIS to influence the views of our young people. I read it the same week as the North Carolina church shooting, and I immediately recognized that the shooter probably had an on-line mentor, teaching him to hate! The book is Christian in it's worldview, but even if you have a different worldview, the information is perfectly valid and useful, and the references to Christianity are few.
• Seduced The Grooming of America's Teenagers is a MUST read for everyone involved with young people (as young as 9-10 years old), teenagers and young adults. Parents, grandparents, relatives, friends ALL should read this book, even more so if they are "techno-phobic", "techo-ignorant" or "cyber-impotent" - all terms coined by Ms. Singleton to indicate a lack of knowledge about the internet.
  
  Not only does she provide clear descriptions of what the internet and gaming offer to children, she also gives excellent advice on how to create a give-take relationship with your young ones regarding internet usage, learning together what exactly is "out there".
  
  Interestingly enough, I got feedback from young adults I know who agree with Ms. Singleton's advice. They emphasize parental oversight and moderation for gaming and setting restrictions for meeting others online.
  
  This book provides a great conversation topic and leads to some interesting input. Power is in learning and we adults, especially grandparents, need the tools to initiate continued communication with our grandkids as well other young people we know.
  
  Buy the book, read it and pass it on. Only by being knowledgeable and aware can we help to eradicate this scary practice of "grooming America's teenagers!
• Excellent book for all parents and grandparents to make them aware of the wiles of the enemy as our young people are seduced by predators on the internet, and how we can be aware of the dangers and help fight this growing trend. Written by Opal Singleton who has many years of experience helping trafficked teens. A must read for anyone with a child in their life, ten and older.
• Very important information to help parents and children. This helps parents and children understand and (Hopefully) prevent traffickers from grooming our children. Any child with a smartphone is a target through games, chats, etc.
• 5 stars because of the important content in this short, powerful book. It's not an overstatement to say many of our children are innocently at risk for the variety of danger that is hidden in social media, and even disguised in the schools they attend. . And parents can be unwitting accomplices simply because we are uninformed. Human trafficking in the fastest growing crime in America. And children are the easy targets. Greed drives despicable people to do despicable things. Please do the responsible thing and not only read this book, but share it with friends, teachers, community leaders.
• This book should be required reading for any parent who gives a child a smartphone. Frequently, the child does not know that pictures posted on the Internet cannot be deleted. They are also not aware of the predators looking for victims online and how they operate. Parents may not understand how the predators operate to attract their children. They also may not know the lack of moral and ethical standards promulgated by best selling online games. This book examines these issues and provides parents with the information they need to protect their children. The author has a wealth of practical experience in dealing with these issues and we can all learn from her.
• Excellent book for teenagers, and parents of teens. Opal Singleton is the go to expert when it comes to human trafficking. You will learn a great deal from this book. Well worth every penny. A must read.
• Excellent perspective for today's parents, teachers and counselors. Clearly presents what to look out for and how to deal with such situations.
